JFK Sixth Floor Museum
Dallas, Texas
Architect: ArchiTexas
Project Overview
November 22nd marks the anniversary of the assassination of President
John F. Kennedy in Dallas. The suddent death of this young and vibrant
world leader sent shockwaves around the globe. The assassination
remains one of the most vividly remembered and controversial events
of the 20th century.
Each year since JFK's death, hundreds of thousands
of people come to Dealey Plaza from around the world to remember
and understand his life and the tragic events of his death. The
Sixth Floor Museum, located in the former Texas School Book Depository,
was created to meet this widespread desire for information about
a tragic and historically important event.
In concert with the Dallas architectural firm
ArchiTexas, David Joiner was asked to provide audiovisual and acoustical
consulting services for the modifications and enhancements to The
Sixth Floor Museum Visitor's Center.
