The 400 seat commissioner's auditorium is equipped with state-of-the-art television-based information system providing a full range of audio and video display from live camera pickup, pre-recorded video, computers and other graphics sources. Images are displayed on multiple, table-mounted monitors as well as on dual, large screens through video projection. Also included in the design are a television studio, control room and link to the county cable television head end.

Knott Building Renovation

Located in a 1930's building adjacent to the present chambers, the building was renovated to accommodate two large spaces, each having extensive audiovisual capabilities. Elliott Marshall Innes Architects, in association with Associated Space Designs, provided multiple solutions to the challenging conditions.

David Joiner provided a design that incorporates dais seating for 40 legislators, gallery seating for approximately 270 persons, a removable lectern, front alcoves, a remote audiovisual control room with visual access into the meeting rooms, a concealed video/data projector and camera booth, and a permanently installed front projection screen - all within a space acoustically designed for speech intelligibility.

As a seat for one of the country's fastest growing counties, the Center houses administrative, judicial and public meeting facilities. The auditorium, where meetings of the Commissioners are held, is equipped with a complete audiovisual presentation system based around a high-end video projector, with video monitors for Commissioner viewing. Slides, drawings, maps and other documents are converted to video. High quality speech enforcement and stereo playback is provided.
